Memorial Biography

Donna Rathbun Ross, 71

Donna Rathbun Ross, 71, of North Granville New York, passed away on April 5, 2013 in Glens Falls, New York.

Visitation will be held at Robert M King Funeral Home in Granville, New York on April 7, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.

Funeral service will be held at Robert M King Funeral Home on April 8, 2013 at 11:00 am with Bob Flower of the South Granville Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow at the North Granville Cemetery.

Donna was born in North Granville to Arthur and Ruth Rathbun on June 4, 1941. She went to high school at Granville High School and graduated in 1958. She went on to earn a bachelors degree in elementary education and mathematics from Cortland College and a masters degree in Guidance Counseling from Albany State University. She taught mathematics and later was a guidance counselor at Colonie High School, Guilderland High School, The American Schools in Athens, Greece and Rome, Italy and Seabury Hall in Maui, HI.

Most importantly, she was a strong individual, a loving wife and mother and a fiercely loyal friend.  She was a source of wisdom and strength to everyone she met and was more generous with her time, energy and love than could have been reasonably expected.  She enjoyed travelling, reading, leisurely summer days at Lake Bomoseen in the Green Mountains, and spending time with her friends and family.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ruth.

Donna is survived by her husband, Raymond (Pug) Ross; brother, William (Bill) Rathbun; sons, Brett Rosselli and Jeffrey Ross; daughter-in-law, Susan Ross; and grandchildren McKenna and Lorenzo Rosselli and James and Charles Ross.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be left in Donna's online memorial book at remembered.com.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Wendy Young, who not only helped to care for Donna in her final years but also was a loving friend to her.
